Deposit: Area of old lead mines extending from l.8 to 3 mi southeast of Anamosa with production greater than 10 tons of lead concentrates. Cadastral location: sec. 13, t. 84 n., r. 4 w., and sec. 19, 30, t. 84 n., r. 3 ; info.src : cobb

Geology: Galena in niagara dolomite (silurian) throughout this small area. On david nielson farm in the southern part of the area lead mineralization follows a e- W vertical joint. Sphalerite occurs nearby in a sinkhole at the contact between silurian and pennsylvanian rocks.
