Sulphur mines located just to the SE of San Cataldo. The most famous mine is Zubi Trabonella (see coordinates), for which the period of maximum production was recorded between 1862 and 1965. Other mines in the area include Zubi Lacagnina (37°28'36" N, 13°59'22' E), Zubi Amico Asaro (37°28'30" N, 13°59'33' E), and Zubi Belvedere Lauricella (37°28'40" N, 13°59'35' E).
