In the article by W. H. Fluker (see references) it states: "what is now known as the National Mine", but it doesn't say what the mine was previously known as. However, the article later states that Joseph H. Porter sunk "the Egypt and Brock shafts to a depth of 110 ft".
S. P. Jones (see references) in the write-up of the Porter Mine states "the Brock and the Egypt veins, have attracted the most attention and mining operations have been confined principally to them". He also states "Mining operations were conducted on the Brock vein several years ago for a short period by the National Mining Company." So, it seems that the National Mine almost certainly became the Porter Mine.
