A placer Au occurrence located in secs. 1 & 11, T4N, R13E, MDM, sec. 36, T5N, R13E, and in sec. 30, T5N, R14E, MDM (essentially along McKinney Creek), 2.7 km (1.7 miles) NW of Sheep Ranch near Oak Ridge. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
The presence of Au in sec. 36 is questionable, but there is Au lode according to Clark, Wm. B. & P.A. Lydon (1962), figure 3.
Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada) (Limestone of probable Paleozoic or Mesozoic age).
