A placer Au occurrence/drift mine located in secs. 16 & 17, T3N, R14E, MDM, 0.6 km (0.4 mile) E of Douglas Flat, along Wild Goose Gulch. Operated during the period 1903 to 1904. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Mineralization is a placer Au deposit located on the Central Hill paleochannel. Local rocks include Tertiary pyroclastic and volcanic mudflow deposits, unit 9 (Cascade Range).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 185 foot shaft to bedrock plus 2,000 feet of drifts N and S.
