A former lode Au occurrence/hydraulic & underground mine located in the center S½ (?) sec. 24, T13N, R9E, MDM, 1.7 km (1.0 mile) NW of Spanish Dry Diggings, E of Cherokee Flat, N of Summit Hill & S of the Middle Fork American River (6 miles NW of Georgetown), on state owned land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Lack of agreement exists on location. UTM estimate places it 1 mile NW of Spanisg Dry Diggings. Logan (1934), p. 34 states it is ½ mile W of Spanuish Dry Diggings.

Mineralization is a vein/seam deposit. The ore body is a 50 foot thick seam belt. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include surface and underground openings. Mined first by hydraulic methods and later by underground methods.
