A former Cu occurrence/mine located in sec. 19, T19S, R41E, MDM, 1.3 km (0.8 mile) E of Darwin. Originally owned by James McDonald of Darwin. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. Updated description, links and position N36.26751 W117.57642 by Richard Muster, courtesy Walt Margerum.
Copper minerals are in two iron stained veins. Chalcopyrite is the primary ore mineral. Local rocks include Carboniferous marine rocks, unit 2 (SE California Carbonate Assemblage).
Workings include surface and underground openings.two 100-foot adits and an open pit (40x20x20 feet deep).
There are other prospects in the vicinity, they are small and have not been worked after 1908.
Very little production.
