A former lode Au mine located in the W½NW¼ sec. 7, T5S, R24E, MDM (highly uncertain), 3.0 km (9,800 feet) SSW of Madera Peak (coordinates of record), on National Forest wilderness land (Ansel Adams Wilderness). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with a 2 foot thick vein bearing a 6 to 18 inch pay streak. The ore body dips 70NW. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Quaternary glacial deposits.
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 400 foot adit and a 28 foot deep winze plus a 60 foot ventilation shaft.
