A former lode Au mine located in secs. 10 & 15, T4S, R17E, MDM, 4.4 km (2.8 miles) NE of Bear Valley, along the Merced River, on Bureau of Land Management administered wilderness land (Merced River Wilderness Study Area) (in the vicinity of the Evans Mine). Operated by the Pacific Mining Co. (?). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. A former Las Mariposas grant mine

Mineralization is a vein deposit with a vein 8 inches (20 cm) to 18 inches (46 cm) thick. The ore body strikes E and dips vertically. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include unspecified underground openings.
