A former Pb-Ag-Cu-Au mine located in sec. 13, T3S, R30E, MDM, 3.7 km (2.3 miles) W of Banner Ridge (coordinates of record), on National Forest land. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in limestone. The ore body strikes N20W and dips 60W at a thickness of 1.22 meters. This deposit is within a limestone belt approximately 1 mile wide and, in the vicinity of veins, it is intruded by diorite. Diorite is the associated rock. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of 8 shafts on the easterly vein, 100 feet apart, and varying in depth from 50 feet to 300 feet.
Production data are found in: Goodwin, Joseph Grant (1957).
Production information: Shipments reported to carry $60 - $200 per ton in Pb and Ag (period values). Smelter recovery 2.72 % Pb, 114 ounces Ag/ton, some Au and Cu. No production values available.
