A former Mn-Au mine located in sec. 20, T14N, R10E, MDM, 2.1 km (1.3 miles) NNW of Yankee Jims, N of Mexican Gulch and E of Shirttail Canyon (located claim). Discovered in 1917. Owned by H.R. Stone & Sue H. Eaves, California (1974). MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10,000 meters (sic). The Crown Point Mine was part of the Tipsey and Coplen group.

The ore body is 4.57 meters thick. Two beds of Mn ore occurs in meta-chert cut by thick quartz veins and enclosed in yellow to gray sericite schist or phyllite, which have a general strike of N20 to 45W and dip of 60 to 75NE. The ore beds are siliceous ore (manganiferous meta-chert) with pockets and lenses of high-grade ore, cut by quartz veins. The ore is mostly hard blue-black psilomelane, some sort, black pyrolusite and a hard, black crystalline mineral. Pink rhodonite fragments were found on the dump. The area has been subjected to faulting. Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).

Workings include unspecified surface and underground openings.
