A reported Au occurrence located in sec. 24, T21N, R11E or sec. 15, T21N, R12E, MDM, about 3.2 km (2.0 miles) WSW of Gold Lake (coordinates of record) (8½ miles N of Sierra City), on National Recreation area land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.

The USGS MRDS database file #10189899 presents geographic coordinates of 39°34'20"N 120°41'33"W, placing this locality between Loganville and the Fournier Ranch on the N side of the North Yuba River. This is in obvious error. The same MRDS file states that this mine is located in sec. 24, T21N, R11E. Research of the coordinates of record for sec. 24, T21N, R11E revealed that the longitude value is apparently correct but the latitude value is in error. The correct value for the latitude is possibly 39°40'19"N. Also, the MRDS file states that this locality is in Gold Valley (section of the Pauley Creek course). Gold Valley is not in sec. 24, but rather, it lies to the W of the section. The MRDS file also contains a note: "Some question as to location in latter references (Logan and Averill). Moreover, MRDS file #10034780 presents coordinates placing this locality in sec. 15, T21N, R12E, MDM, NE of Gold Lake, within a shaded mining claim area possibly the "question" as to its actual location.

Mineralization is a vein deposit. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada) and/or Quaternary glacial deposits.

This is an old group (of claims). No production records found.
