A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in the E½ (estimated) sec. 3, T19N, R10E, MDM, 1.8 km (1.1 miles) SSW of Downieville, along Slug Canyon, on National Forest land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. Lies S of the Triple Pocket Mine.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in slate. The ore body strikes N and dips E at a thickness of 2.44 meters. There are 2 veins, 80 feet apart, with the largest at 8 feet thick and the smallest at 20 feet thick, between slate walls. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include a crosscut adit at 400+ feet long with earlier workings above. The adit must be extended 300 feet further.
