Celadonite from
North railway cut, Malpais Hill, Dudleyville, Pinal County, Arizona, USA

Classification
Species:Celadonite
Formula:K(MgFe3+◻)(Si4O10)(OH)2
Comments:Occurs as vesicle fillings. The original references indicate that the so-called celadonite, had a "similar" x-ray pattern without discussion of the implied problem. There was a comment that the chemical composition of the alleged celadonite differed from what would be expected for celadonite, as the species was known at that time. Additional materials are known from the locality which occurs as gnarled acicular clusters. These may or may not be a member of the celadonite-mica group. Another form which may or may not be celadonite occurs as velvety crystal coatings and spherical clusters lining cavities. New mineral studies of the are needed.
