About CalcioursiliteHide

Formula:
Ca4(UO2)4(Si2O5)5(OH)6 · 15H2O
Colour:
Lemon yellow
Lustre:
Earthy
Crystal System:
Orthorhombic
Name:
For chemical composition: Uranyl and calcium silicate.
Calcioursilite was originally described in 1957 as “ursilite” (now discredited) from the Oktyabr’skoye deposit, Kyzyltyube-Saj, Samgar Steppe, Tajikistan.

Forms a solid solution with magnioursilite.

Chemically similar to uranophane and its dimorph parauranophane, but with different stoichiometry.
