A silvery-black blade of rutile from Mont Saint-Hilaire. Photo is 2.5 mm in length. Associated minerals include pyrite, albite and elpidite. Specimen and photo: Steve Stuart. This is the host specimen for the brookites found within the florets of the broccoli-like structure. The specimen is about 75 mm (3 inches in its longest dimension. The elpidite fluoresces green under SW UV light. The albite fluoresces red. Photo and specimen: Steve Stuart.
