Operated via underground workings, shafts and open cut. There were at least three adits, two of which were in excess of 150 metres in length.
The mine straddled Purgatory Creek.
Located about 3kms north of the intersection of Thumb Creek.
The mine was one of the major producres of antimony in the area.
This mine and others in the area are located in what is also known as the “Taylor’s Arm Antimony Province”. This terminology appears on many geological maps.
The mines in the area are approximately 30 to 40km west of Macksville and to the immediate East and West of the Taylor’s Arm River.
