Rogers (1946) describes braunite "from a prospect on a hill one-halfmile northwest of SnowmassPost Office." "The prospect is located about 250 feet above the Roaring Fork River. The ore occursin the Maroon Formation (chiefly Pennsylvanian) in an irregular vein-like deposit from one to five feet thick which transgresses the bedding plane at a small angle."
