Quarry exposing Ordovician Oneota Formation dolostone. Cavities from paleokarst contain minerals that are probably fringe deposits related to the Upper Mississippi Valley Zinc-Lead District. Most notable is galena as octahedral crystals are much altered with coating of calcite and cerussite, verified by XRD analysis. Drusy quartz, "cold-water" agate and goethite pseudomorphs after marcasite are also notably present.
