Imperator Mine; Eureka Mine
A gold mine located on the east side of Eureka gulch north of Republic. This was one of the first claims staked after the noth half of the county was opened for mining. It worked a vein of chalcedonic quartz 7-8'wide cuts porphyritic andesite Development includes a 400' shaft with several drifts and stopes, with a winze sunk from the 400' to 500' level. It produced a total $720,938.70 up to 1920, 1936, 22,402 tons in 1937, 9.828 tons in 1938, 1939-1940. Total production is 161,000 tons at 0.38 oz/ton gold and 2.50 oz/ton silver.
