This small quarry is located in a large operational sand pit, and is worked on a single-level, 100 meters long wall.
The following description is from the Deposit File of the MRNF (Ministère des ressources naturelles et de la faune) :
The dominant rock is a medium to coarse-grained, dark grey calc-silicate, containing diopside, chondrodite, phlogopite, and pyrite/pyrrhotite. Interbeds richer in diopside, and of amphibolite, are present. The percentage of mafic minerals would be in the range of 30 to 40 %.
Rust-brown surface alteration inches thick is caused by a sizeable amount of pyrite/pyrrhotite.
Dykes and sills of granitic pegmatite (feldspath, quartz, hornblende, and titanite) cut these rocks.
