Locality type:

It is assumed the name refers to David Lindsay, Western Australian explorer, who was briefly in 1911 operating several gold mines on the field. Unconfirmed. GML 2138.

The site contains several shafts to only moderate depths, on a small reef, dipping at a low angle east. After Lindsay could not get finance to continue operations, all the gold bearing stone was reburied in a trench. C.S. Honman who conducted the research in 1914-1915 for the Geological Survey of Western Australia, said second hand accounts was the stone was rich in gold.

A 'little south' of Lindsay's is the Dawn and Elliott shaft to 20 feet deep, on a small rich vein 6 inches wide. The sites contain no outcrop. The source does not locate the sites.
