Described in 1906 as in the northern section of the Mount Monger field. GML 1024Y. The lode was different to the rest of the goldfield, being a flat lying rubbly ironstone formation, trending north-south, with cross leaders running through it. Its stated a large amount of work had been done on the lease in former years, but no information was found. Above the reef is a 'superficial' alluvial deposit of crystalline secondary gold, originated it is suggested from an iron oxide covered nearby hill.
