Golden Hope was a small pit immediately south of the giant Hampton-Boulder-Jubliee open pit, and bordering the Kalgoorlie-Kambalda Road on its east. The pit was subsequently filled in with tailings.

Development started with a flush of activity between 1920 to 1923, then nothing until the small open pit was dug in recent decades to supply the Jubilee processing plant.

Golden Hope was a large low grade ore body, with two sulphide lodes through the channel. In 1920, two shafts were sunk, with levels at 70, 100 and 200 feet. Tom Creer was mine manager. A small treatment plant was erected.

In 1936, the Kalgoorlie School of Mines visited the site which had been abandoned for many years, but the old treatment plant ruins were still to be seen. They again visited in 1948, much of the plant had been removed or rusted away, but note a large flywheel remains.
