This sub-heading has been added as the nearest geographic location for a manganese prospect, which will be listed under it. Cleland Hills is 300 kilometres west of Alice Springs in very remote country. Known for an impressive collection of aboriginal rock art, and archaeological sites in overhangs. The nearest human habitation is the Haasts Bluff indigenous community to the north. Permission to visit is needed from the local aboriginal land trust. Beyond this only the most prepared and experienced should attempt the trip, with faint exploration tracks, and at times cross country travel needed.
