STG 07004

Official name: Steingarden Nunataks 07004
Abbreviation: STG 07004
Observed fall: no
Found: 2007
Coordinates (Meteoritical Bulletin 102): 72°21.095' S, 16°6.749' E
Recovered weight: 17.55 g
L6 chondrite, shock stage S3, weathering grade W1

The find site is placed on the northern face of an ice rise with numerous rock fragments on its surface (Delisle et al., 2015).

The meteorite is an almost fully encrusted stone with a dull black fusion crust and regmaglypts. The cut surface exhibits a greyish interior with finely dispersed metal grains and minor staining. Chondrule outlines are absent. The overall microscopic features are very similar to those of STG 07002.
