From Berg et al (2016):

In March 169 the mayor of Oslo (Christiania) applied for mining rights for the Åmdal Kobberverk. That same year this company acquired the mining rights for the Mosnap mine, which in the 1500's was run by the Moisesberg Kobberverk from Fyresdal. In 1712 the mine was closed. Therafter there have been several periods with new mining activity: 1745-1758, 1763-1768, 1796-1812, 1826-1828, 1857-1902, 1904-1909, 1911-1913, 1914-1919, 1929-1931 and 1934-1945.

From an estimated 1 Mt of rock about 8 Kt copper was extracted and some silver. At its most in 1912 the mine employed 429 workers. The mine is a cultural heritage site.

Over a length of more than 1,5 km a great number of mines/prospects can be seen at the relief map. From 59.36353,8.01463 til 59.37188,8.03357. Some features even stretching farther are less certain (for instance 59.37329,8.03876).
