A former surface Mn mine located in sec. 24, T.5N., R.8W. First production was in 1916.
Mineralization is Mn ores in Green Gulch volcanics.
Field observations by C. Lemanski, Jr.: The workings consist of two large open pits. Acres of surrounding land are covered with the waste rock, which is comprised substantially of large pillows of basalt coated with Mn oxides.
