A former lode (and placer ??) Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 29, T16N, R8E, MDM, about 3.5 km ESE of Rough and Ready, N of Squirrel Creek (1¼ miles W of Grass Valley). The property comprises 90 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
The ore body strikes N35E and dips 57W at a thickness of 2.44 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings with an overall depth of 82.3 meters and comprised of an inclined shaft with levels at 100, 150 and 250 feet.
Ore averaged $12 (period values) Au/ton at the 150 level; $6 (period values) Au/ton at the 250 level.
