A former lode Au mine located in sec. 18, T33N, R7W, MDM, 2.9 km (9,400 feet) E of Deadwood (coordinates estimated; section projected), along Scorpion Gulch. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is hosted in granitic porphyry and slate. The ore body is tabular, strikes N and dips 65E at a thickness of 0.61 meters and a length of 60.96 meters. There are 3 parallel veins. The hanging wall is slate and the footwall is granitic porphyry. Local rocks include carboniferous marine rocks, unit 4 (Eastern Klamath Mountains).
Workings include underground openings with a length of 213.36 meters, consisting of a 700 foot adit.
Little ore was extracted. No production record.
