A former lode Au-Fe prospect/mine located in sec. 11, T33N, R8W, MDM, 2.3 km (7,500 feet) NE of Trinity Dam, along Fairview Ridge, N of the Papoose Arm of Clair Engle Lake (4 miles WSW of Trinity Mountain guard station, off Fairview Road), on National Forest land. Discovered 1932. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in diorite, granite and sedimentary and volcanic breccia. The ore body is 0.2 meters thick. The vein is associated with breccia containing partly rounded fragments of Bragdon Slate; possibly fault breccia. Local rocks include Paleozoic metavolcanic rocks, unit 1 (Eastern Klamath Mountains) and/or Carboniferous marine rocks, unit 4 (Eastern Klamath Mountains). High-grade ore was found in average thicknesses of 3-4 inches (8 to 10 cm), maximum of 8 inches (20 cm). Gold occurs in the free state.

Workings include underground openings. There are 2 adit levels, separated by 30 feet in depth. The lower adit comprises 200 feet of drifts and crosscuts. The upper one has 55 feet of drifts. A 30 foot stope was driven from the lower level.
