Name:
Named in honour Felix Petrovich Mitrofanov (Феликс Петрович Митрофанов) (22 June 1935, Orenburg, USSR - 8 May 2014, Apatity, Russia), geologist and Academician of the Russian Academy of Science. He was among the first to discover platinum-group mineralization in the Fedorova-Pana complex, Russia.
Structurally and chemically related to moncheite.
