I just got my new canon macro lens EF-S 60,
and needed something to test it with my Canon 7D,
I overexposed a little bit because crystal was too dark;
here is my thorianite crystal glued to a pin head,
maybe about 4 mm wide, the picture is 50% crop of the original and reduced in size to 800 x 533,
latter I plan to take a series of shots and stock them with zerene stocker to get full detail of the crystal,

this well formed and terminated crystal of aeschynite-(Y)
weights over 1 kg. very hot as you can see in gamma pager,
neutron windows shows some neutron counts, but that can be only gama interference.

Columnar basalt dike in el fuerte rock quarry in Ocotlan Jalisco, near my home town Jamay Jalisco Mexico,
This rock quarry was closed about 20 years ago.
I took my gamma pager but didn’t pick up anything either.
Look for two guys in the picture.

I took four pictures with out tripod and before asking for permit to do it,

They strictly prohibit me to do it, they only give me permission to walk around the place,
I took my gamma pager but didn’t pick up anything or find anything.
Those volcanic formations look amazing in person.
I may have better luck next year.

red, brown or dark coloring is pure reflection,
pyrite has a nice golden color.
