This galena crystal was discovered on November 25th, 2015 at the top of a weathered calcite vein which was under 5 m of overburden. The galena has begun to to oxidize to pyromrphite. The newly discovered deposit is 200 m from and parallel to the historic La Manche mine.

Calcite Tailings from Lamanche mine

The La Manche Vein is located to the right of the calicte tailings, left of the forest. The open workings on the vein were backfilled 8 years before the photo was taken.
