Improving Mindat.orgHow to reference MinDat members?

2nd Oct 2017 12:38 UTCClosed Account 🌟

I am preparing an article for Mindat. To give credit where credit is due I would like to reference Mindat members. Is there a way to do it like with minerals, photos or localities?

Cheers,

Branko

In a formal chemistry publication, the reference for Joe Mineralcollector would read, "J. Mineralcollector, pers. comm." (pers. comm. = personal communication).

If you want to list their names and mindat homepage you could use the general html code for a link see - https://www.w3schools.com/html/html_links.asp

@ Steve:

Yes, that is what I would do (and have done in other publications).

@ David

Thanks, I am aware of the basics of HTML/CSS/JavaScript (cf. my wife's homepage, written by me).

The question was: is there a way to do it like with minerals, photos or localities in Mindat Markup Language (MML) as described here?

From your answers I assume: No, there is not (but maybe there should?).

Cheers,

Branko
