Mineral ShowsTucson Show-- how to find dealers sulfides, sulfosalts, Peru, Bolivia, Romania

27th Jan 2017 16:37 UTCStephen Richard

Hi, I've been living in Tucson for a long time, and going to the shows pretty much every year. I'm getting more focused on looking for sulfides and sulfosalts, and am trying to figure out how to find dealers with material from some of the interesting localities-- Bolivia, Peru, Mexico, Romania, Morocco. None of the show guides I've seen seem to have the information I need (who has material from particular areas...) . Any suggestions?

Thanks

steve

Talk to each of the people who set up each venue, they should know which of their dealers has what.

Jaroslav Hyrsl often has sulfides and sulfosalts from Bolivia and Peru.

At the Tucson shows that I have been to, I actually saw one or two collectors with sandwich type signs on their chest and back with notes seeking particular minerals or localities. A bit over the top, but it might help! CHEERS.....BOB

I was at the Kino Park Show today. One dealer inside the tent on the south end had Los Lamentos, Mexico, specimens. Just outside the same tent was a dealer with pieces from Peru.

You should consider the three-day Just Minerals Event starting tomorrow at the Elks Lodge on Oracle. Last year there was a lot of Mexican material at the one-day sale put on by a group of dealers at a home in the west foothills. This year it looks like it might be focused on Tsumeb, however, but you might make inquiries about it. Details are on the Trinity Mineral Company website.

Good luck.
