Mineral ShowsFavorite Tucson Show Venue?

20th Mar 2018 20:37 UTCSteve Hardinger 🌟 Expert

For those of you who participate in the many Tucson shows, either as a buyer or a vendor, what is your favorite Tucson show venue, and why is it your favorite?

The nicest venue has to be Westward Look. The show I spend the most time at (other than TGMS where i'm forced to be there all the time) is the HTCC.

I agree with Jolyon. Altho I wasn't at this year's show, I was at the 2017 show and 5 times in the past 12 years.

The Westward Look Show is where the mineral specimen eye candy is. That is what not only interests me, but where I can find the (very) infrequent hi end examples from Indiana. Otherwise I have little to no interest in any type of lapidary arts and jewelry, no interest in fossils, no interest in low end specimens, little interest in micros, rare minerals and little interest in middle level examples from Indiana or elsewhere. So I go where the potential specimens that interest me and the eye candy is, which is, as I said, the Westward Look Show. CHEERS.....BOB

I have the feeling this is going to be one of those "ask ten people and get ten different answers" kind of thread where it is really going to depend on what the individual interest of the person is. If I ever get to Tucson (no, I've never been...), I know I would certainly need to do my homework.

HTCC (Hotel Tucson City Center) for sure for me because it is always the venue where I find the most specimens that I am able to purchase, plus it is the place where I bump into the most people I know. Westward is always a must see for me because of the amazing quality of the specimens.

I did like the vibe at the Pueblo show, enjoyed the Tsumeb forum immensely and the Westward look as well.
