Definition of ore deposit
A body of ore or a mineral deposit that has been tested and is known to be of sufficient size, grade, and accessibility for minerals to be extracted to yield a profit. (In controlled economies and integrated industries, the 'profit' decision may be based on considerations that extend far beyond the mine itself, in some instances relating to the overall health of a national economy.)
