Formerly : Canadian Red Granite Quarry

(French version at bottom)

This locality was visited on November 15th, 2011.
Revisited April 19, 2014 : The quarry doubled in size, but no minerals were found.

The following was drawn from the "fîche de gîte" (Deposit File) of the MRNF (Ministère des ressources naturelles et de la faune) :

The Chatham-Grenville Syenite is coarsely grained, with an orange-brown color due to the prominence of hematized potassic feldspar. In the West part of the quarry, the rock is rather grey.

No mineralisation was observed, except for a partly smokey quartz veinule crossing the stripped-out top of the quarry.
