Calciocatapleiite from
Norra Kärr, Gränna, Jönköping, Jönköping County, Sweden

Locality type:Complex
Classification
Species:Calciocatapleiite
Formula:CaZr(Si3O9) · 2H2O
Comments:A pale reddish mineral that occurs as small rounded spots in grännite rock has been thought to be calciocatapleiite, but no analysis has confirmed this (Thulin 1996). A yellowish-white to yellowish brown mineral that occurs as 1-2 cm large spots, also in grännite, thougt to be calciocatapleiite by collectors, was analyzed by EDS-SEM, and was showed to be catapleiite (Thulin 2000).

A catapleiite with purple-blue color labelled by some collctors as "Ca-catapleiite" or calciocatapleiite (Identity not verified) shows a vivid green color in both short and long wave UV.
