compositions are characterized by cordierite + anthophyllite + chlorite + biotite + ilmenite ± plagioclase...quartz was also observed. Coexisting cordierite+ anthophyllite +cummingtonite was not observed in any rocks...cummingtonite-bearing rocks can apparently be derived from anthophyllite +garnet-bearing rocks by increasing temperature...may be a result of its rarity and reports of anthophyllite/gedrite overgrowths on cummingtonite in the...cummingtonite that is both mantled and unmantled by anthophyllite.
