The shape looks like stuff I've seen from the Huanggang Mining area:

Pehaps a natural Huanggang quartz that has been artificially irradiated?

Agree with Ian and Alfredo---it appears to me to be an irradiated Huanggang quartz. I haven't seen black specimens but rather colorless to greenish.

I'm inclined to believe it's lab grown. Note this seller in question has other lab-grown crystals for sale as well.
