Does anyone know of any uranium mines or occurrences in this area? Thank You.

Looking at the map Reiner https://www.mindat.org/photo-766114.html doesn't look like it.

As to E. Kohl in Uran/ Die Metallischen Rohstoffe 10.Heft (1954 in german) p. 137:

A till now not further known pitchblende occurrence was found in 1926 near Messina, close to the border of Portuguese East Africa (now Mosambik, personal addition). Possibly it was related to the copper veins.

Limpopo Basin Anomalous uranium concentrations have been found in boreholes drilled for coal in the Ecca of the Northern Transvaal.

In the link below - about half way through there is a map which indicates a potential uranium deposit

That's a bit confusing, Musina is close to Zimbabwe border, Mozambique border is 180 km away.

The Palabora mines do have Uraninite listed. I do also recall talk of uranium production in that area.

I've only seen this discussion now, so if it is still relevant, these are the uranium localities in the Limpopo Province of South Africa:

Palabora mine - as a by-product

Glenover Complex - a carbonatite, exploited for phosphate

Springbok flats coalfield - U associated with coal (estimated 55,000 tons U)

Gatkop and Buffelshoek farms in the Waterberg - low grade U mineralization in pebble conglomerates

In the Black Reef Formation 30 km northwest of Northam - U in auriferous conglomerates
