Identity HelpHelp identifying sparkling rock mineral

This rock is 2 x 1 1/2 inches. It’s very sparkly no matter what lighting, and it does not flake off. It almost looks like there are garnets embedded in it. Close up , it somewhat even resembles a native crystallized gold. I’m just not sure what this is.... or how to go about cleaning it up without ruining it.

Thanks!

Certainly not gold. Looks like a mica mineral in quartz. Again, where was it found?

Agree.

This looks more like mica in quartz from a pegmatite.

Could be a pseudomorph of mica replacing some earlier mineral. I'm also interested in the little dark crystal to the right of the ball of mica in the first and third photos. Standing on one foot and squinting, it resembles a zircon--but of course could be anything, or nothing.

More likely a garnet, I saw that too.
