Techniques for CollectorsWinter Micromount Gathering

21st Feb 2009 16:39 UTCHenry Barwood

A little late to comment on this, but our annual Winter Micromount Gathering happens next week at Dowling Park, Florida. A more relaxed micro meeting you will never find! It officially is next Saturday, but usually people arrive by Thursday and start yakking and swapping (minerals and stories). Anyone who is in driving distance of north Florida should attend. Saturday we have lots of talks that are usually excellent and there will be loads of give-aways from all over (I'm brings some syenite pegmatite from several Arkansas quarries).

Sorry, I won't be there - I am much too far away.

(I opened this hoping to see some photos of snow crystals - just goes to show how a thread title can be misinterpreted!)

And there was me thinking we were collecting molehills.

Like Peter, it's a very long bus-ride, so I'll just have to wait for the gathering to migrate to Exeter or something.

Good luck with the event, though.

There we go, Alysson, trying to make minerals out of molehills...an interesting and humourous perspective, no doubt.

The opposite from the usual take, being "making mountains out of molehills"...
