Identity HelpBelorechenskoye unknown green

20th Nov 2009 22:40 UTCMaurice de Graaf Expert

Hi all,

I have a question about an unknown secondary from the the Belorechensk mine, Adygea, Caucasus, Russia. On picture 1 you see Serpierite (according to Mikhail Murashko), but in the topright corner are two or three minute green crystals. picture 2 is a 'close-up'. Still the FOV of the second picture is only 0.7mm! So the picture is really at the limits of my equippement.

I know it is a long shot, but has anyone an idea what fits the paragenese and appearence?

Thanks in advance,

Maurice

Hello,

Maybe Brochantite. I've had several pieces with that paragenesis from Schlema, there was plenty of serpierite/devilite + brochantite.

Hi Maurice,

I agree with Sebastian I think I can see a Bronchantite prism in the second image.
