GeneralMagazine and Specimen

5th Dec 2011 23:56 UTCKeith Williamson

Hi Everyone,

Just a general question not a moneygrubber. I bought a gold in matrix specimen from the finder who put an article in a prospecting magazine about the find. In the article there is a picture of the specimen. My question. Would it be worth it to keep a copy of the issue with the specimen?

Thanks for the info, Keith

Dew drop diamond geodes were described as a very distinctive and collectible type of Midwest geode by Steve Sinotte in his 1960ish book on "Fabulous Keokuk Geodes". They are characterized by are individual or contiguous bipyramidal quartz crystals on top of white chalcedony. In sunlight or bright light the quartz crystals sparkle like the early morning dew. These 2 halves of 2 geodes are dark smoky quartz and were found, as all my finds of this type, in a very small site in Monroe County, Indiana. They were found about 2005. Enjoy BOB
