Hi Dermot,

can you tell us where it was found and provide us with a better image (one that is actually in focus)?

These could help to ID the unknown (I suppose you want us to ID the whitish 'band' just above your fingertips?)

Thanks,

Vik

Maybe it is my monitor but I don't see any green.

Agree with Reiner - I see a smoky top, some white on the bottom and to the right, and a blue reflection on the left (on my monitor).

sorry gentlemen my explaining is nearly as bad as my photography

I got this about 3 or 4 yrs ago it came from either Pakistan or Afghanistan)

at the time I thought the larger crystal (dark) was quartz and put it away for later

viewing

weighs 19 grams

I have attached 2 more pics not sharp but just hoping to confirm quartz

It looks like a crystal of smokey quartz with a smaller crystal of beryl attached and some calcite or dolomite.

thanks all it has been in a moving box for the last nearly 2 yrs knocking about

when I saw the beryl still attached I think I smiled it is fragile now i`m sure to break it
