Identity HelpChimooite, Zn analogue of ranciéite?

7th Sep 2017 15:10 UTCVik Vanrusselt Expert

Hello all,

"Chimooite", the Zn analogue of ranciéite and its type locality seem to be missing from Mindat.

References:

1) Kim, S.-J., Choi, H. and Chang, S. (2002) Zn analogue of rancieite, a new mineral from the Dongnam mine, Korea. 18th International Mineralogical Association Meeting at Edinburgh, Abstracts, 140.

2) Choi, H. and Kim, S.-J. (2003) Chimooite, a new mineral from Dongnam Mine, Korea. Journal of the Mineralogical Society of Korea, 16(4), 333-339.

(in part, in Korean with English abstract: http://210.101.116.28/W_files/kiss3/07900685_pv.pdf)

Could someone please add the species and the locality to Mindat based on these references?

Thank you in advance.

Vik
