Identity HelpBrown aggregate on pyrrhotite from the Nikolaevka Mine

Hi,

I purchased this specimen of pyrrhotite and galena recently. It is from the Nikolaevka Mine, Dalnegorsk, Primorskiy Kray, Russian Federation. It measures 6.0 x3.5x3.0 cm.

In the photo near the bottom, you can see some speckled dark brown aggregates. I cannot scratch them with a knife. Under a lens, there are some very tiny pyrrhotite crystals but it is the other material that I would like to identify. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi John,

Usually this stuff is just pyrite, sometimes with siderite. The one on photo looks like pyrite only.
